JAPANESE STUDENTS ARE BEGINNING TO LEARN THE TURKMEN LANGUAGE

On June 2, 2016 in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan, a solemn event dedicated to the beginning of the teaching of the Turkmen language for Japanese students held at the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.

The inclusion of this subject in the curriculum of one of Japan's leading universities in the field of teaching foreign languages, of course, was an important event for the Turkmen-Japanese cooperation. "The Turkmen language" began to be taught in this university since the beginning of the school year, which begins in Japan in April.

During the event, the Rector of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS) Professor Hirotaka Tateishi, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan G.Elyasov, Vice Rector of the International University of Human Sciences and Development of Turkmenistan M.Begliev and Japanese students of the Turkmen language department made the presentations.

In their speeches, the speakers noted the great importance of studying the languages ​​of the two countries to further strengthen bilateral relations in all spheres of cooperation. Participants were encouraged by the information about the beginning of the teaching of the Japanese language in a number of secondary schools and higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan in the new academic year.

 

For the participants of the event the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan organized an exhibition of arts and crafts, carpets and textiles of Turkmenistan, as well as book and photo exhibition which introduced the culture, traditions and the present day of the country.
