Turkmen masters of ju-jitsu won 4 medals in the world championship among juniors
Four medals were won by national sportsmen in the "ne-waza" category in the world jiu-jitsu championship among juniors, held in Abu-Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).
Two awards in the weight category of 49 kg among girls aged 21 were secured for our national team by master Sayara Avezmetova and Gulbahar Madreyimova. Upon completion of preliminary stages of our compatriots met in the semi-final where there Sayara happened to be stronger. She confidently won her opponent from Vietnam and became a world champion in her age category. G.Madreyimova also did not remain without an award, having won a "bronze" thanks to her victory over the representative of Austria.
Our young men secured two bronze medals as well. Having taken second place in at the group stage, Isa Kasymov (weight category - 46 kg, age group – under 18) gained the right for the semi-final. He yielded in a persistent duel to his opponent, having won, as a result, third place.
One more bronze award among juniors of the same age category Rejepov Maksat (55 kg) received. Having yielded in the quarterfinal to the future winner of the world championship, our sportsman, however, won the right to compete for the third place and successfully coped having secured the fourth medal of this championship for the national team.
Competitions in Abu-Dhabi will proceed. It is necessary to notice that nine national masters of jiu-jitsu take part in the tournament.
