As is known, one of the main events of 2023 in Turkmenistan was the large-scale celebrations held on June 29 on the occasion of the opening of Arkadag - a new city of state importance.

Representatives of 29 international news agencies, TV channels and Internet portals from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belgium, Hungary, Georgia, India, Iran, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France and Japan were accredited to cover the events on the occasion of the opening of the city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan. Among them are the TV channels "Russia-24", "Big Asia", "CCTV", "TRT World", "TV Jahonnomo", "NHK", "Doordarshan", "Public Television of Armenia", "Uzbekistan-24", " Magyar Televizio", "KTRK", news agencies "France-Presse", "Xinhua", "IRNA", "Trend", "Agerpress", "News Day Georgia", "Tatar-inform" and others.

Also, correspondents of the “SNG.Today” publication and a film crew of the Interstate TV and Radio Company “MIR” were accredited in Turkmenistan these days.

All events on the occasion of the opening of the city of Arkadag were broadcast by the Turkmen and foreign media online and posted on the leading information Internet platforms. To date, over two hundred news items and videos dedicated to the opening of the new city have been published in the world media.

These reports note that the new city is a bright example of a “smart city”, in the life of which digital, information, communication and “green” technologies are integrated. The best traditions of national architecture and modern trends in architecture and design are harmoniously combined here. The city has created a comprehensive infrastructure that meets international standards, including in the field of ecology and environmental protection.

The significance of this mega-project is evidenced by more than 20 international certificates and awards in the field of sustainable development, environmental friendliness and innovative solutions, which were awarded to the city of Arkadag.
