THE KARATE FEDERATION OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED AN HONORARY AWARD FROM THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF JAPAN

Ambassador of Japan to Turkmenistan Yamamoto Hiroyuki met with Chairman of the country's Karate Federation Yashuzak Mammadnazarov.

Ambassador Yamamoto Hiroyuki presented the Certificate of Honor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan to the representative of the Karate Federation for his merits in the development of this sport in Turkmenistan.

The Karate Federation regularly organizes national competitions, contributing to the spread and popularization of this sport among Turkmen athletes.

Since the creation of the Federation in 1978 to the present, the number of karatekas in Turkmenistan has grown from 40 to 38,000 people, the Japanese Embassy said on its social media account.

It is worth noting that the certificate of honor was awarded back in 2020, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the award ceremony was postponed.
