Ambassadors of Turkmenistan and the USA meet in Tokyo

On February 01, 2024, Ambassador of Turkmenistan A. Bayramov met with Ambassador of the United States of America to Japan Rahm Emanuel within the format "Central Asia + the United States".

During the conversation, Ambassador Bayramov confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to further strengthen constructive partnership with the United States in the interests of mutual prosperity.

In particular, it was noted that the first Summit in the format "Central Asia + USA" held on September 19, 2023 in New York (USA) with the participation of the Presidents of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the United States was a good opportunity to discuss a range of issues, including those related to regional security, trade and connectivity, as well as climate change. It was noted that this mechanism has proved to be an effective regional platform for deepening economic cooperation, maintaining security as well as sustainable development in Central Asia.

The sides emphasized the need to continue cooperation on issues related to expanding economic and energy cooperation, climate change, as well as countering the challenges and risks of the current times.
