TURKMENISTAN CULTURAL DAYS WERE HELD IN JAPAN

Turkmenistan Culture Days were held in Japan from 12 to 14 June 2024.

 On 12 June 2024, the opening ceremony of the Days of Turkmenistan Culture in Japan and cultural events dedicated to the year proclaimed  "Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi",  as well as an exhibition of works of applied art of Turkmenistan, were held in Tokyo, Japan.

 The opening ceremony included a concert by Turkmen masters of arts, an exhibition of works of arts and crafts of Turkmenistan and a fashion show of national costumes of Turkmenistan.

The opening ceremony was attended by members of the Japanese parliament, representatives of ministries, public and state organisations, heads of higher educational institutions, heads of foreign diplomatic missions in Japan, as well as Turkmen students studying in Japan.

The official part of the opening ceremony was addressed by Ambassador A. Bayramov and Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan G. Myradaliev. In their speeches, they noted that the domestic and foreign policy of the Honourable President and our Hero Arkadag contributes to the development of our country, achievements in trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as strengthening of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.

 On the Japanese side, Secretary-General of the Turkmen-Japanese Interparliamentary Friendship League Sh. Matsushita  and the Minister of Digital Technologies of Japan T. Kono made speeches. In their speeches, they noted that Turkmenistan has a significant place in Central Asia, that Japanese-Turkmen relations are strengthening, and the current cultural days are proof of that.

 The Japanese side also expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the restoration of the memorial monument to the famous Japanese writer, Nobel Prize winner Kawabata Yasunari in May 2024 in Magtymguly Fragi Park in Ashgabat. In particular, the Government of Japan noted the special importance of holding the Days of Turkmen Culture in Japan from 12 to 14 June, as 14 June coincides with the birthday of Yasunari Kawabata.

In the University of Tsukuba (Japan), a series of meetings and a round table on culture, science and education dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Piragi were held.

 In the course of the meetings, the importance of the activities under the leadership of the Honourable President to further develop the multifaceted Turkmen-Japanese relations was noted.

 On 14 June 2024, the closing ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Japan and cultural events dedicated to the year proclaimed " Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi", as well as an exhibition of works of applied and artistic art of Turkmenistan were held in the Japanese city of Tsukuba.

 This cultural event was received by the Japanese with great joy and excitement. They noted that the Days of Turkmenistan Culture in Japan testify to the strengthening of Turkmen-Japanese relations.
