A TELEPHONE CONVERSATION TOOK PLACE BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE PRIME MINISTER OF JAPAN

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida had a telephone conversation on 12 August 2024.

Having warmly greeted each other, the parties expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to discuss in person certain issues of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation.

During the conversation, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that Turkmenistan highly appreciates the level of the established interstate relations with Japan and attaches special importance to their further development in all priority areas.

At the same time, the sides reaffirmed their interest not only in close cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan on a bilateral basis, but also in partnership within the framework of authoritative international organisations, first of all, the United Nations.

The Japanese Prime Minister, also noting with satisfaction the high level of established interstate relations, stressed the need to build up bilateral ties and expand cooperation between the two countries on the platform of international organisations.

During the conversation, it was noted that an important place in the Turkmen-Japanese dialogue is given to intensifying trade and economic contacts.

At the end of the telephone conversation, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida wished each other good health, prosperity and great success in their responsible endeavours.
