EVENTS ON THE OCCASION OF WORLD CYCLE DAY HAVE BEEN HELD WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN
On June 3, 2020, in Ashgabat, on the occasion of World Cycle Day, the opening of the Bicycle monument and a mass bike ride took place with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The ceremony was attended by members of the government, heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, heads of the ministries and departments of the country, representatives of national and foreign media, as well as students.
The congratulatory speech of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed to the participants of the event gave solemnity to the opening of the Bicycle monument on the occasion of World Bicycle Day. Then the festivities continued with bright performances by the masters of art and culture of our country.
At the beginning of the celebration, the Leader of the Nation launched a mass bike ride, and its participants went to the finish line, that is, to the State rostrum. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov first drove through Chandybil Avenue then continued on Bitarap Turkmenistan Avenue and arrived at the finish line after a 12-kilometer bike ride.
Various events organized today on the occasion of World Cycling Day in the capital's Olympic town have also become crowded. There were held games in footsall, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, gymnastics, bowling, chess and tennis.
Events on the occasion of World Cycling Day took place not only in our country, but also abroad. So the celebrations organized by the Embassies of Turkmenistan abroad were widely celebrated in different parts of the world. Among them, we can distinguish various bike rides conducted by the Embassies and consular offices of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea, Ukraine, in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, in Georgia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Austria, the Kingdom of Belgium, China, France, in the cities of Ankara and Istanbul of the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Belarus, Uzbekistan and Romania.
