THE NEXT MEETING OF JOINT TURKMEN-UZBEK INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION HELD IN TASHKENT

On the 14th of September, 2021, the 16th meeting of Joint Turkmen-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation had been held in the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

From Turkmen side the meeting was attended by the heads of the ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan led by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E.Orazgeldiyev. Uzbek delegation was headed by the Deputy Prime-minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan S.Umurzakov.

The participants of the meeting discussed the joint activities on implementation of the decisions of the 15th meeting of the Commission.

During the meeting the parties noted with satisfaction the fruitful results of the bilateral meetings of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Great services of the Presidents of two countries in the formation of the Commission promoting further development of bilateral relations were underlined.

At the meeting of the Commission the parties discussed the issues of the expansion of trade-economic collaboration and industrial cooperation, strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the spheres of energy, transport and transit. The exchange of views took place on cooperation in agriculture, particularly on the use of water resources of the region.  The issues of environment protection were also discussed. In addition, the participants considered the key aspects of scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

On the results of the work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission the ceremony of signing of the Protocol of the 16th meeting took place.
