THE INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CONFERENCE CONTINUED ITS WORK DURING THE SECOND SESSION
The international forum «Health diplomacy is the foundation of a healthy world» to discuss issues related to using the experience gained during the COVID-19 pandemic and preventing the spread of infectious diseases continued in its second session.
The moderator of the second session, «Medical Diplomacy in the fight against infectious diseases with a pandemic character» was WHO Representative in Turkmenistan E.Zaitsev.
The Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan N.Amannepesov, Director of the Department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals at the World Health Organization K.O’Brien, Director General of the FBRI State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology «Vector», Rospotrebnadzor, Russian Federation R.Maksyutov, Regional Emergency Director World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe D.Nitzan, Digital Services Senior Coordinator at the International Telecommunication Union H.Eskandar, Regional Adviser on Digital Health of the WHO Regional Office for Europe C.Hamilton made their statements in the second session.
The speakers at the second session noted the great role of health diplomacy in achieving progress in combating infectious diseases. It was noted about the active promotion of international cooperation of Turkmenistan aimed at overall joint control of infectious diseases, as well as about the main initiatives of Turkmenistan in the field of health care.
Presentations also covered the issues of vaccination against COVID-19 and ensuring universal access to vaccines to achieve universal health coverage. Participants emphasized the importance of complying with international health regulations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the main directions for the development of digital medicine.
