MEETING OF THE PRESIDENTS OF TURKMENISTAN AND KAZAKHSTAN

On June 29, 2022, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to attend the Sixth Caspian Summit.

Having sincerely thanked for the hospitable reception rendered on the Turkmen land, the head of the friendly state emphasized the full interest of Kazakhstan in the further expansion of comprehensive relations with neighboring Turkmenistan, which plays an important role in strengthening the regional dialogue in the interests of all.

Warmly welcoming the distinguished guest, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked him for accepting the invitation to take part in the meeting of the heads of the Caspian Five, which will provide a good opportunity to identify priority areas for cooperation in the near and long term, to exchange views on the further development of relations between the Caspian countries and ways to expand their multifaceted partnership.

During the meeting, key aspects of the long-term fruitful Turkmen-Kazakh dialogue, successfully developed in a bilateral and multilateral format, including on the platform of leading international organizations - the UN, OSCE, CIS, ECO, and a number of others, were discussed.

The interlocutors stated with satisfaction that it is precisely the closeness of the views of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on key issues of global development, their mutual support in the international arena that directly contribute to the effective interaction of the neighboring states, as well as strengthening the trust and respect that traditionally bind the fraternal peoples.
