Counsellor of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on tourism promotion Ms. Yumi Mizumori recently visited Turkmenistan.  Her visit had several objectives. In particular, supporting a Japanese correspondent in covering tourist routes in Turkmenistan, as well as visiting tourist facilities and infrastructure and holding meetings with travel agencies in the country.

The State Library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan was donated 156 books within the framework of the Read Japan project, which is implemented by The Nippon Foundation of Japan. The number of Japanese language learners in Turkmenistan is increasing dynamically. According to a Japan Foundation study, the number of Japanese language learners per 100,000 population in 2021 has increased by almost 220 times compared to 2015, surpassing Vietnam and China.
