Meeting was held between the President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On August 5, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
The head of state, having warmly greeted the President of the friendly state and thanked him for accepting the invitation to participate in this Forum, held jointly with the UN in Turkmenistan, noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to friendly relations and multilateral cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude for the hospitality and emphasized the importance of holding the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in Turkmenistan. Confidence was expressed that the High-Level Forum and the decisions taken within its framework will contribute to the further development of interstate cooperation.
The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the coincidence of views of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on important issues of the regional and global agenda, in particular on such issues as strengthening peace and stability, developing sustainable energy and transport systems, using water resources, protecting the environment and climate change.
During the exchange of views on issues of bilateral relations of mutual interest and concerning the areas of trade, energy, transport and communications, priority areas of cooperation were identified.
The interlocutors, noting the dynamic nature of mutual trade turnover, emphasized that both countries have great potential for developing cooperation in the field of trade.
At the end of the meeting, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that the current meeting would give new impetus to further strengthening cooperation, and also exchanged best wishes to each other and the fraternal peoples of both countries.
