MEETING OF THE ACTING MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE OIC

As part of the participation in the session of the OIC Ministerial Council in Islamabad, Acting. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha.

At the beginning of the conversation, R. Meredov congratulated the Secretary General on his election to this high and responsible post and stressed that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to its membership in the Organization.

Also, the Secretary General of the Organization was informed about the results of the presidential elections in Turkmenistan held on March 12 this year. Gratitude was expressed to the leadership of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for sending a mission of observers to the elections.

In turn, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation stressed that all OIC member states are making concerted efforts to solve various problems faced by the Muslim Ummah.

During the meeting, a number of issues related to the participation of Turkmenistan in the activities of the OIC were discussed.
