STATE VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDIA TO TURKMENISTAN BEGINS

On April 1, 2022, President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Turkmenistan on a state visit.

On the square in front of the reception building for distinguished guests of the capital's airport, an official meeting ceremony was held for the leader of the Republic of India. Here, President Ram Nath Kovind was cordially welcomed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. After exchanging friendly handshakes, the heads of the two countries went to a specially installed podium.

The Commander of the Guard of Honor solemnly reported to the President of the Republic of India. The national anthems of the Republic of India and Turkmenistan were performed.

The leaders of the two countries walked around the formation of the soldiers of the Guard of Honor and pay tribute to the State Flag of Turkmenistan.

Then the motorcade of the distinguished guest, accompanied by an honorary escort of motorcyclists, went to the Ýyldyz hotel.

On April 2, in the morning, the President of the Republic of India proceeded to the Oguzhan Palace Complex. Here, after the traditional ceremony of joint photographing against the background of the State Flags of Turkmenistan and the Republic of India, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited President Ram Nath Kovind to go to the Rovach Hall, where the Turkmen-Indian high-level talks were held in a short format.

As noted during the constructive conversation between the heads of the two countries, in the modern era, the traditional dialogue between the two countries, based on deep historical roots and mutual goodwill, was being strengthened, including on a multilateral basis. The present visit of the President of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan contributed to the further development of mutually beneficial partnership, as well as friendly and fraternal relations between states and peoples.

Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Ram Nath Kovind also exchanged views on a number of topical issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest.

Further, the talks continued in an expanded format with the participation of members of the official delegations of the two countries.

At the end of the talks in an expanded format, the ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place. The parties signed a solid package of bilateral documents aimed at intensifying multifaceted contacts, strengthening trust and mutual understanding between the Turkmen and Indian peoples and states.

At the end of the document signing ceremony, the heads of the two states addressed the media representatives.

The heads of the two states stressed that Turkmenistan and India have a solid potential for a multifaceted partnership, the implementation of which will serve to build even stronger and more reliable bridges of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

After that, Ram Nath Kovind visited the village of Kipchak, where he paid tribute to the memory of the first President of Turkmenistan, laid flowers at the Mausoleum.

Further, the cortege of the President of the Republic of India went to the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan, where the distinguished guest laid flowers and planted a seedling on the alley of Honored Guests.
