VIENNA HOSTED AN INTERNATIONAL WEBINAR DEDICATED TO THE AKHAL-TEKE HORSES
On May 16, 2022, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria, together with the Turkmen-Austrian Society, organized an international webinar on the topic “Ahal-Teke horses are the wings of the Turkmen people”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Austria.
The webinar dedicated to Akhal-Teke horses was attended by representatives of ministries and departments of Austria, lovers and admirers of Akhal-Teke horses from countries such as Austria, Hungary, France and others, as well as representatives of the public, the media and the diaspora.
During the webinar, speeches were made by the President of the Hungarian Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association, Mr. Njeka Jozsef Gyula, the Head of the Austrian Akhal-Teke Horse Breeding Association, Mr. Marcus Hubmann, and the General Director of the French Institute of Riding and Horse Breeding under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of France, Mr. Jean-Roche Gallier, Head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society Ms. Neda Berger, who stressed the importance of this meeting for the exchange of views of horse breeders of European and other countries on the breeding of purebred horses.
In turn, the Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, Ms. Chinar Rustemova, spoke about the current status of the implementation of the project for the nomination of the native Turkmen arts of the Akhal-Teke horse breeding to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
As a result, the participants of the event expressed their deep gratitude for the organization and invitation to the event, which made a valuable contribution to the development of horse breeding at the international level, and also expressed full support for the initiatives of Turkmenistan in the development and strengthening of the art of horse breeding at the international level.
