On March 27, 2026, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of the Philippines (with residence in Tokyo) A. Bayramov met with Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Japan Ms. Mylene J. Garcia-Albano.

During the meeting, Ambassador A. Bayramov expressed gratitude to Ms. Mylene J. Garcia-Albano for her work in developing Turkmen-Philippine relations.

During the meeting, important areas of bilateral relations were discussed, including the organization of high-level visits, strengthening the legal framework, political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian aspects of bilateral cooperation, energy security, and multilateral cooperation.

In particular, given that the Republic of the Philippines will Chair ASEAN in 2026, the parties agreed to cooperate on specific proposals for the implementation of Turkmenistan's initiative to establish a "Central Asia + ASEAN" format.
