トルクメニスタン大統領グルバングルィ・ベルディムハメドフが喪のナショナルデー記念のイベントに参加しました

Turkmenistan commemorates the Day of Memory - a national commemoration of the heroes who were killed in battlefields of all wars, as well as the victims of the Ashgabat catastrophic earthquake of 1948. On the occasion of the mournful date, national flags are lowered across the country, memorial moleben are held everywhere and Sadaqah (immolations) are given.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the mourning ceremony of laying wreaths at the monuments of the Memorial Complex "Halk hakydasy". Today thousands of Ashgabat residents and guests of the capital came here, following the call of their heart.

The National anthem of Turkmenistan sounds. Its chords are replaced by the melancholy melody "Kechpelek", which became a piercing musical expression of the people's grief about the fallen defenders of the Fatherland and the innocent victims who died.

Warriors of the guard of honor of Turkmenistan Ministry of Defense lay wreaths of autumn flowers from the President of Turkmenistan to the foot of the monuments "Ruhy tagzym", "Milletiň ogullary", "Baky şöhrat".

As a sign of deep sorrow, the Head of the state bows his head low. On the tragic night of the Ashgabat earthquake of 1948, the nature element has also ended the life of the grandfather of the nation's leader, Berdimuhamed Annayev, a war veteran of 1941-1945, a teacher and educator who devoted himself to the noble cause of educating the younger generation.

At that night from 5 to 6 October 1948, when at 01.12 after midnight, the element struck a blow of colossal power, in a flash destroying the Turkmen capital, those, who survived showed high courage, fortitude and endurance. The common misfortune has united the strength and morale of people.

Ashgabat now has revived to life; it is a beautiful white marble megalopolis that embodied the dreams and visions of our ancestors about the bright future of the country, the happy fate of future generations. The city lives and flourishes, showing with its entire appearance the scale of the changes taking place in Turkmenistan.

Today's National Day of Memory is a tribute to the honor and glory of our, numbering many thousands of years, people's great historical path, full of difficulties and trials, joys and sorrows, holidays and tragedies, glorious victories and achievements. Today, we commemorate hundreds of thousands of Ashkhabad earthquake victims with deep sorrow; remember with reverence the names of courageous defenders of the Geoktepe Fortress, as well as the heroes of the war of 1941-1945.

Heads of the Mejlis, deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city, heads of military and law enforcement bodies, ministries and departments, public organizations, heads of diplomatic missions and foreign companies accredited in Turkmenistan, imams and elders, youth, residents and guests of the Turkmen capital laid wreaths at memorials.
