THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY, AT THE INITIATIVE OF TURKMENISTAN, PROCLAIMED NOVEMBER 26 AS THE WORLD SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT DAY

Upon the initiative of Turkmenistan, the United Nations General Assembly has proclaimed November 26 as the World Sustainable Transport Day.  It is the reflection of long-term cooperation of Turkmenistan and its international partners on forming effective transport systems. Turkmenistan coordinated national, regional and international actions on building sustainable chains, developing transport and transit corridors.

It is pertinent to note that the first ever Global Conference on Sustainable Transport was held in Ashgabat on November 26, 2016.
