Meeting with Toshiaki Endo, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group

On 13 May 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with members of the delegation of the Japanese Parliament headed by the Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Japan Toshiaki Endo in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The sides discussed the directions of development of cooperation between the countries, focusing on the interaction in politico-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

An important topic of discussion was the holding of the first Summit of the countries-participants of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan" this year.

During the meeting, the sides also emphasised the important role of inter-parliamentary relations, which is one of the key areas of expanding the partnership between the two countries. In this regard, the significance of the activities of the Turkmen-Japanese Parliamentary Friendship Group was noted.
