The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the closing ceremony of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka

On October 13, 2025, in the city of Osaka, the closing ceremony of the World Expo 2025 took place.

The event was attended by members of the Imperial Family of Japan, representatives of the government of Japan, the World Expo 2025 Association, the administration of Osaka Prefecture, as well as a number of high-ranking guests from various countries, representatives of national pavilions of countries of the world, and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Japan. The Turkmen side was represented by a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations N. Agahanov.

Opening the event, the Secretary-General of the Japan World Expo 2025 Association, H. Ishige, noted the successful conclusion of the World Expo 2025 in Osaka and expressed deep gratitude to all the national pavilions of the countries of the world that took direct part in holding this world exhibition.

Then the national flag of Japan was raised and the national anthem was performed.

Speaking at the event, the Minister of Japan for the World Expo 2025, I. Yoshitaka, the Chairperson of the World Expo 2025 Association, T. Masakazu, and the Governor of Osaka Prefecture, H. Yoshimura, noted that the World Expo 2025 had turned Osaka into a popular tourist destination.

The event also featured speeches by His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Akishino and Prime Minister of Japan S. Ishiba. In their speeches, the heads of state noted that the World Expo 2025 had become a grand platform for presenting their potential to the general public by several countries of the world.

During the event, videos were shown about the events held within the framework of the Expo throughout the year, memorable moments, and interesting memories. In addition, a significant part of the event was devoted to performances by cultural figures.

At the end of the closing ceremony, the flag of the World Expo was lowered and with respect was handed over to the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has received the right to host the World Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
