The International conference devoted to the annversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan held in Tokyo

On November 11, 2015 the International Conference “2015 –the Year of Neutrality and Peace” was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan at the hotel “Palace” in Tokyo. The official reception devoted to the Independence Day and the 20thanniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan was held on the same day at the evening.

The international conference was attended by the representatives of ministries, departments and scientific institutions of Japan, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Japan and the delegation from Turkmenistan.

During the speeches, the speakers stressed the great importance and the contribution of the neutrality in the cause of peace, progress in the region and the world. Speakers also drawn attention to the importance of the neutrality from scientific and political point of view. Special attention was paid to the Turkmen-Japanese cooperation and its prospects. Guests from Turkmenistan also delivered speeches about the large-scale reforms implemented in the country in the sphere of science and education.

After the conference the participants were created conditions for a detailed exchange of views (networking).

Then official reception took place, which was attended by over 400 people. At this event, the official speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Japan G.Elyasov, Deputy Head of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Japan Mr. Hiroshige Seko and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games of Japan Mr. Toshiaki Endo.

 

During the reception, the students of the University of Tokyo dressed in Turkmen national costumes and decorations organized for the guests special performances. Also, there was organized exhibition, which included photo-stands, books, as well as traditional items of Turkmen life.
