FLAG-RAISING CEREMONY ON THE OCCASION OF THE THIRD UN CONFERENCE ON LANDLOCKED DEVELOPING COUNTRIES

On August 3, 2025, a flag-raising ceremony for Turkmenistan and the UN was held at the National Tourist Zone “Avaza” on the occasion of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

This ceremony serves as an expression of the importance of the upcoming global forum, which is held once every ten years and is dedicated to issues of comprehensive development of landlocked developing countries.

The flag-raising ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the UN Under Secretary-General, High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States Rabab Fatima.

Turkmenistan took great responsibility in carrying out all the necessary preparatory measures for the successful holding of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the country.

This significant event demonstrates that Turkmenistan views the United Nations as a universal international platform with a mandate of the world community to protect, as well as strengthen international peace and security and ensure the sustainable development of all states and peoples.
