On August 5, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which is being held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

Having greeted the distinguished guest, the head of state thanked him for accepting the invitation to participate in the large-scale International Forum, which is taking place in our country, and noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of friendly and fraternal relations with Tajikistan.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome on Turkmen soil, the President of Tajikistan emphasized that the current Conference will contribute to identifying priorities for mutually beneficial cooperation between landlocked developing countries and further interaction in all areas.

The interlocutors exchanged views on important areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation.

The parties highly appreciated the achieved level of cooperation in various sectors and the accumulated positive experience, emphasizing the need to use existing opportunities fully and take the partnership to new levels.

In this regard, the importance of consistent implementation of previously reached agreements aimed at further strengthening effective cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres was noted.

It is generally agreed that it is precisely this comprehensive approach and the centuries-old friendship between the two peoples, who carefully preserve their spiritual, cultural and historical values and pass them on from generation to generation, that serves as a reliable foundation for long-term cooperation established in the new historical era on the principles of equality, trust and mutual benefit.

At the end of the meeting, Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Emomali Rahmon, once again confirming their readiness to further deepen multilateral interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, wished the peoples of the two friendly countries peace, stability, well-being and prosperity.
