Turkmenistan expands cooperation with the ancient capital of Japan, the city of Nara

On April 06, 2026, a visit of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A. Bayramov to Nara Prefecture was held with the aim of developing cooperation with Nara Prefecture and holding events dedicated to the year “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses”. During the visit, within the framework of the year “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses”, a round table and a number of meetings were held at Nara University of Education. Participants of the event were introduced to the achievements of Independent, permanently Neutral Turkmenistan, the inseparable material and spiritual wealth of the people – Turkmen horses, the scientific study of Akhal-Teke horses, the wide dissemination of this breed and the comprehensive work carried out in Turkmenistan to increase its prestige at the international level. Also, Ambassador A. Bayramov held meetings with the Mayor of Nara city G. Nakagawa, the Governor of Nara Prefecture M. Yamashita, the President of Nara University of Education T. Miyashita and the Deputy Director General of the Nara National Museum S. Yoshizawa. During the meetings held, various areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed, in particular, establishing sister-city relations with the city of Nara, developing cultural and historical relations, establishing cooperation with the Nara National Museum, strengthening cooperation in the fields of economy and industry, education and tourism. As is known, Nara is the most ancient and first capital city of Japan. It is the birthplace of the current Prime Minister of Japan S. Takaichi.
