THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN
On July 15, 2023, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who arrived on a visit to the Turkmen capital to participate in bilateral inter-MFA consultations.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the time spent, the head of the foreign affairs department of the friendly country conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who addressed the wishes of well-being and prosperity to all Turkmen citizens, to the head of state, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Greeting and thanking the guest for his kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov addressed his best wishes to the top leadership of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The head of state noted that the political consultations with Turkmen colleagues planned during the current visit of the head of the Tajik Foreign Ministry would provide an opportunity to exchange views on the current state and prospects of bilateral dialogue, expressing confidence that their results would serve to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two countries.
In this regard, the importance and relevance of the Fifth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the next meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which will be held in September this year in Dushanbe, were noted. Confidence was expressed that the upcoming high-level meetings will be held in a traditional benevolent atmosphere, and their results will become a significant contribution to strengthening and expanding interaction between the countries of the Central Asian region.
In the context of the multifaceted Turkmen-Tajik partnership, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the dynamics of cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, cultural, educational, transport and other areas, emphasizing the readiness for further joint work to fully utilize the existing potential.
At the end of the meeting, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin expressed confidence in the progressive development of interstate relations and addressed their best wishes to the fraternal peoples of the two friendly countries.
