The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan participated in the successive meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs

On October 9, 2025, the successive meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Dushanbe. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the heads of the CIS foreign ministries discussed current issues on the regional and international agendas. Participants discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation within the Commonwealth.
Particular attention was paid to the development of international, trade, and economic cooperation, as well as the strengthening of ties in digital, transport-transit, and other fields.
The participants of the meeting also discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the preservation and use of historical and cultural heritage sites, the development of museums and libraries, support for theatrical arts and music, the development of cinematography, as well as the training of qualified specialists for the cultural sector.
The Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs agreed on the Plan for Multilevel Inter-Ministerial Consultations within the Commonwealth of Independent States for 2026.
The next meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs is scheduled for April 17, 2026, in Kaliningrad.
