Agreement has been signed between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and “Sumitomo Corporation” to combat ice accumulation on power lines
Within the framework of the international conference and exhibition "CIET-2025", the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Japanese company “Sumitomo Corporation” have signed a Framework Agreement on cooperation aimed at improving the reliability and uninterrupted power supply in the country.
The purpose of the agreement is to provide specialized equipment to prevent ice formation on power lines.
Ice accumulation on power lines in regions with variable climate conditions is a serious problem for power systems and leads to power outages.
This cooperation with a leading Japanese company underlines Turkmenistan’s priorities in the field of consistently strengthening the infrastructure of the power sector and introducing advanced technologies to provide reliable and uninterrupted electricity to domestic consumers.
The supply of equipment by the Sumitomo Corporation is part of a large-scale program to modernize the national power system.
