The delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the meeting entitled “Tax and Development” held in Tokyo

On March 2-3, 2026, in Tokyo, within the framework of the joint initiative “Platform for Collaboration on Tax”, established by the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the United Nations, a meeting entitled “Tax and Development” was held.

Representatives of international financial organizations, heads of financial and tax authorities of various countries, experts and specialists of international organizations participated in the meeting.

The turkmen delegation consisting of Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan B.Yalakov took part in the work of the mentioned meeting.

The main purpose of the meeting was to improve the tax policies of states, increase the efficiency of tax systems and promote international cooperation in support of economic growth. During the event, particular attention was paid to strengthening tax administration in developing countries, the effective use of financial resources and the creation of a transparent economic environment.

The participants exchanged experience on modernizing tax systems, improving tax administration through the use of digital technologies and creating favorable conditions for economic development.

As a result of the meeting, important proposals were put forward to strengthen international cooperation in the tax sphere, expand information exchange and develop effective tax policies that contribute to the economic growth of countries. The holding of such events is of great importance for ensuring the financial stability of states, accelerating economic growth and developing international cooperation.
