Meeting between the President of Turkmenistan and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic

On October 8, 2026, a meeting was held between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, who had arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit to participate in high-level events in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.

Warmly welcoming the Kyrgyz leader, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked him for accepting the invitation to visit our country to participate in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. The participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in such important international events is of special significance.

As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, Turkmenistan highly values the personal attention of President Sadyr Japarov to the expansion of regional cooperation.

Thanking for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss key issues of interstate interaction, the distinguished guest emphasized the significance of the major international events taking place in Turkmenistan. President Sadyr Japarov also congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the successful hosting of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the same time, the Head of the Kyrgyz Republic noted the significant contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to the expansion of regional cooperation and, taking this opportunity, addressed warm words of greeting to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

“Our countries, while maintaining a constructive political dialogue, actively cooperate within the framework of international organizations, primarily the UN and the CIS, as well as other authoritative structures,” said the Head of State. Along with this, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that he warmly recalls his visit to the Kyrgyz Republic to participate in the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Cholpon-Ata in July of this year. Speaking of this, the Head of Turkmenistan once again thanked President Sadyr Japarov for the warm welcome on Kyrgyz soil and emphasized that the past meeting provided an impulse for the consistent expansion of the partnership.

As noted, one of the key components of interstate cooperation is the trade and economic sphere. Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic possess sufficient potential to increase the volume of mutual trade and investment, as well as to implement joint projects in various industries. Today, energy, transport, the oil and gas industry, and agriculture represent promising areas in the context of intensifying mutually beneficial cooperation.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also emphasized the importance of further promoting the development of direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries and implementing joint economic projects.

Noting the special role of the cultural and humanitarian sphere in the development of bilateral cooperation, the Head of State stressed that fruitful interaction in this direction contributes to strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between the Turkmen and Kyrgyz peoples.
