THE TURKMEN DELEGATION TOOK PART IN THE REGULAR SESSION OF THE ENERGY CHARTER CONFERENCE

On November 27-28, 2018, the 29th Session of the Energy Charter Conference was held with the participation of the Turkmen delegation in Bucharest. The delegations of the Energy Charter member countries, representatives of international organizations, as well as representatives of major energy companies, the public and the media attended at the session.

At the Conference participants highlighted the role of the Energy Charter in the development of the global energy sector, in supporting a sustainable energy future, energy efficiency, as well as the development of innovative energy technologies, modernization of the Energy Charter Treaty and expansion of its membership.

The delegation of Turkmenistan took an active part in the Conference, introducing the participants to the international initiatives of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan in the energy sector, as well as the global energy projects implemented by our country and those in the process of implementation.

Following the meeting, the participants of the Conference adopted the Bucharest Declaration of the 29th Session of the Energy Charter Conference.

During the visit, the Turkmen delegation was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Mr. Teodor Meleshkanu.

Also during the visit, Turkmen-Romanian ministerial consultations were held at the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs of the two countries, in which the issues of bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic, inter-parliamentary, trade-economic, transport, energy, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed. At the political consultations the parties also exchanged views on topical issues of the international agenda.

During the discussion of the development of the Turkmen-Romanian inter-parliamentary dialogue, there was a special interest in the issues of trade and economic cooperation, as well as in the project on creation of a transit transport corridor Black Sea - Caspian Sea.
