First Caspian Economic Forum is planned on August 2019
As is known, the final Communique of the V Summit of the Heads of Caspian States reflected the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the first Caspian Economic Summit in Turkmenistan in 2019.
Special organization committee was established for practical implementation of these initiatives. Key organizational issues have been reviewed and number of proposals including on the organization of the Forum and other events under its framework in Avaza National Tourist zone on August 12, 2019, on the date when the Day of Caspian Sea is traditionally observed, have been prepared at its first session.
It is also proposed to establish the Coordination centre at the Foreign Ministry for provision of comprehensive preparation to the first Caspian Economic Forum. In this context, the Draft Concept of the Forum has been presented to the Head of the State for review.
In this regard, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that development of fruitful cooperation with Caspian States is among priority vectors of foreign course of Turkmenistan.
Strategic significance of Caspian Sea in regional and international geopolitical and geo-economic processes, its role of important transit, transport and logistic hub provide the necessity of further consolidation of efforts of Caspian states. Speaking of this, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed the Vice-premier with specific assignments on comprehensive preparation to the first Caspian Economic Forum.
