The Agreement on holding 2020 Davis Cup Group IV regional events in Ashgabat is signed

The delegation of Turkmenistan paid a working visit to Switzerland. According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, President of the International Tennis Federation David Haggerty received Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Dayanch Gulgeldiyev in Lausanne. 

During the meeting, the Turkmen side presented information on the preparations for the Davis Cup Group IV regional events - the Asia/Oceania IV event, which will be held in Ashgabat in June 2020. 

In turn, the President of the International Tennis Federation expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with Turkmenistan and demonstrated the interest in developing the dialogue. 

During the meeting, the parties considered the aspects of enhancing cooperation, in particular, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan and the International Tennis Federation, including the creation of the Tennis Academy. 

The organization of the visit of President of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) David Haggerty to Turkmenistan to get acquainted with the sports infrastructure and activities for the development of tennis in the country was also discussed. 

In conclusion of the meeting, the parties signed the Agreement holding 2020 Davis Cup Group IV regional events in Ashgabat. 

In frames of the working visit to Lausanne, the Turkmen delegation met with President of the Association of National Olympic Committees Robin Mitchell and representatives of the International Olympic Committee.
