In the Mejlis the meeting with representative delegation of Japan at the head of the representative of Organizing Committee of the Olympic, Paralympic Games in Tokyo, the head of Parliamentary Association of Japanese-Turkmen Friendship of Endo Toshiaki who arrived in the Turkmen capital for participation in celebratory actions on the occasion of opening of the 5th Asian indoor and martial arts games took place.

Having expressed gratitude for the accorded hearty welcome, the visitor conveyed warm words of greeting and congratulation on the successful and rather impressing opening of the «Ashgabat 2017» from the Emperor of Japan Akihito and Prime Minister Sinzo Abe to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

In the context of the 5th Asian indoor and martial arts games starting in Ashgabat, the Japanese party underlined a special importance of adoption of the Joint Statement of Turkmenistan and Brazil "On Encouraging the Valuable Contribution of the Olympic Teams of Refugees to the Promotion of Peace and Human Rights" at the 36th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHCR) initiated by the Turkmen party. A number of the countries of the planet including Japan, supported this highly humane document, represented as co-authors to the above-stated statement that confirms dazzling successes of Turkmen diplomacy in the field of human rights.

Throughout the theme it was noticed that Japan completely supports peaceful foreign policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan and important international initiatives put forward by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov aimed at strengthening of bases of peace and security at global and regional scale.

It was underlined that Japan expresses all-round readiness to develop the established cooperation and further to put joint efforts with the countries of the Central Asian region with a view of stability and sustainable development maintenance. The intensification of the dialogue «Central Asia + Japan», the next session of which took place in May, current year in Ashgabat can serve a good example for it.

During the conversation the sides also supported the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations as an integral component of mutual relations, for stimulation of mutually beneficial exchange of experience in the legislative sphere. The activity of Parliamentary Association of Japanese-Turkmen Friendship is urged to promote it. As it was marked, establishment of this structure is not only reflexion of high level of interstate dialogue, but also aspiration of members of the parliament of the country of rising sun to bring a contribution to development of productive cooperation with the Turkmen state.
