Government of Turkmenistan increases funding for medicinal immunological drugs twice
The key direction of the state policy in medical care is promotion of preventive work of the health care system. Since immunological prophylaxis stands as a reliable tool to maintain epidemiological well-being in relation to vaccine-preventable infectious diseases.
For many years, the epidemiological well-being in the country has been ensured due to the consistently high level of coverage with preventive vaccinations - over 95%.
Over the past 25 years, the Government of Turkmenistan, represented by the Ministry of Health Care and Medical Industry has purchased and delivered to Turkmenistan high-quality WHO-certified vaccines and consumables for them within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding for procurement of life saving vaccines and the Vaccine Independence Agreement signed between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF.
Currently, the parties have agreed and signed the 2021-2025 Plan for the procurement of vaccines and immunization equipment within the framework the Memorandum of Understandingб concluded in 2015.
Taking into account the birth rate and the importance to introduce new vaccines, as compared with the previous cycle, the Government of Turkmenistan, within the framework of the above Procurement Plan, doubled the financial resources allocated for the purchase of immunobiological drugs.
