Presentation of the 12th volume of medicinal flora encyclopedia takes place

The Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry has held the presentation of the XII Volume encyclopedic work of President, Academic of the Academy of Sciences of the country, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan”.

Heads and leading specialists of the Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry and its profile establishments, representatives of number of other ministries and profile departments, public organizations and mass media as well as students took part in the ceremony.

The participants highlighted special importance of new volume, which is continuation of fundamental scientific work, on which President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has started working in 2009, in their speeches.

It was mentioned that “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan”, which represents an encyclopedia of flora of our country, has become a handbook on phytotherapy not only for Turkmen medics and pharmacologists but also for many foreign specialists who have an opportunity to study the book owing to translation to many languages. The book contains detailed description of healing properties of medicinal plants growing in the country, including endemics, their use in scientific and traditional medicine.

The same as previous book, which have been translated to many world languages, new volume of scientific work of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has been published in big amount. The publication contains photo illustrations, Russian – Latin – Turkmen dictionary of plants and calendar of picking of medicinal plants.

Public representatives and profile specialists highlighted that new volume of encyclopedia of medicinal flora will be undoubtedly interesting for wide reading audience.
