国連中央アジア予防外交センターで中央アジアとアフガニスタンの外務省長の会合
On December 11, 2017, the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for the Countries of Central Asia organized a meeting of the Central Asian foreign ministers dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Center and the International Day of Neutrality.
Ministers and deputy ministers of Turkmenistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan took part in the meeting.
Addressing the officials the UN Secretary General's Special Representative for Central Asia, Head of the UNRCCA, N.German, stressed that the UN as a whole and UNRCCA in particular, welcome the positive dynamics of regional cooperation and the growing opportunities for further advancement of preventive diplomacy in the region in all areas.
In his speech, the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan stressed that the activities of the Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia today attracted well-deserved attention and great interest in the world, reflected the desire of the international community to make full use of its opportunities for establishing a broad multilateral dialogue in ensuring a long-term peace, stability and effective economic partnership. He also noted that Turkmenistan will continue to provide maximum assistance to the work of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia and will fully contribute to strengthening its role and authority.
During the meeting, the participants expressed support for the Center's Action Program for the period 2018-2020 aimed at assisting the countries of Central Asia in countering the existing challenges and threats in the region.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of a final document that welcomes the UN General Assembly Resolution 72/7 on the role of UNRCCA and stresses the importance of consolidating regional dialogue and cooperation mechanisms in Central Asia.
