POLITICAL AND ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF TURKMEN-AMERICAN COOPERATION WERE DISCUSSED AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN
Today, on May 15, 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a meeting with the Director General of the Foreign Service of the State Department of the United States of America Ms. Carol Perez and the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs at US Department of State Dean Thompson. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan Matthew Stephen Klimow also attended the meeting.
The sides considered the wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as touched upon international and regional themes of mutual interest. The parties also confirmed mutual commitment to the further development of bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.
The sides paid attention to the problems of the climate change. The relevance of building up of effective bilateral and multilateral dialogue in the given segment was noted.
Diplomats paid special attention to the trade-economic ties between Turkmenistan and the USA. In this context, the fruitful work of Turkmen-American Business Council was highlighted.
