DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS OF TURKMENISTAN ABROAD ORGANIZED BIKE RIDES ON THE OCCASION OF THE WORLD BICYCLE DAY
The Embassies, Permanent Representations and Consulates of Turkmenistan abroad hold mass cycling events dedicated to the World Bicycle Day. This international date, established on the initiative of Turkmenistan by the UN General Assembly and adopted on April 12, 2018, is widely celebrated in Turkmenistan and other countries.
Thus, in honor of the World Bicycle Day, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in London organized a bike ride together with the British organization Ride London, which was attended by the Embassy staff, Turkmen students studying in the UK, as well as local residents.
The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan organized a bicycle ride in the Tokai University Sports Park, which was attended by Turkmen and foreign students, studying at Tokai University and sports enthusiasts.
The Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva held a mass bike ride. Employees of the diplomatic mission of the country and their families, as well as athletes and Turkmen students attended this sports event, which was held in front of the UN Office in Geneva.
In addition, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the city of Mashhad, Iran, in the city park "Ghadir" held a bike ride with the participation of diplomats and cycling enthusiasts.
In the capital of the Republic of Korea, the city of Seoul, the Embassy of Turkmenistan held a bike ride in Hangang Park with the participation of diplomatic mission staff, Turkmen students and numerous representatives of local youth.
Also, bike rides took place in the capitals of Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Romania, Austria, Germany, Belarus, Malaysia and India. Turkmen and foreign diplomats, heads of public and sports organizations and youth took part in the mass races.
Cycling is gaining more and more popularity in the world. And the bicycle holiday unites all countries and peoples. This is another contribution of our country to global development, the health movement and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
