Meeting held between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan and newly appointed Governor of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC)

On 30 July 2026, a meeting was held between Mr. A.Bayramov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, and Mr. K. Amakawa, the newly appointed Governor of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC).

During the meeting, congratulations were extended to Mr. K. Amakawa on the occasion of his appointment as Governor of JBIC, and issues related to the further development of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and JBIC were discussed.

As noted, JBIC actively participates in the financing of economic projects implemented in Turkmenistan with the participation of Japanese companies. Such projects include the Gas-to-Gasoline Plant (GTG-1) in Ahal velayat, Garabogazkarbamid plant, Charjew state power plant and other major projects.

The parties also exchanged views on issues related to the implementation of circular economy projects in Turkmenistan with participation of JBIC.
