Key aspects of Turkmen cultural heritage and traditions were introduced to Japanese middle school students in Tokyo
On September 6, 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan had the honor of hosting a group of middle school students from Fukuoka Junior High School of Fujimino city of Saitama prefecture. The meeting was organized to introduce Turkmenistan’s culture and history to the Japanese youth within the framework of the motto 2024 - “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi”.
The event featured an insightful presentation on the contributions of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, Magtymguly Fragi, to the cultural heritage and traditions of the East. The Japanese students were introduced to the rich history and the longstanding friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Japan, which have been nurtured under the esteemed leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The presentation captivated the students with fascinating details about Turkmen customs, as well as the establishment of a new smart city Arkadag. The interactive nature of the event encouraged enthusiastic participation and engagement from the participants.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A. Bayramov expressed gratitude for the interest and active participation of the young guests and presented them with memorable gifts. At the end of the event, the children had an opportunity to enjoy national dishes, which was a pleasant cultural addition to the educational part of the visit.
This meeting emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and strengthening international ties through education and mutual understanding. The Embassy expresses its sincere gratitude to all participants and looks forward to continuing such events in the future.
