The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Mr. A. Bayramov participated in memorial ceremonies held in Hiroshima on August 06 and in Nagasaki on August 09, 2026, commemorating the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombings of these cities.

The above-mentioned events were attended by the Prime Minister of Japan, Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament, members of the Cabinet of Ministers and heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Japan. In their speeches delivered during the events, the Japanese side emphasized the importance of preventing the use of nuclear weapons, as well as continuing international efforts towards nuclear disarmament and the promotion of peace.

During his participation in the above-mentioned events, the Ambassador laid flowers at the memorials commemorating the victims and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the bombings of these Japanese cities.

Additionally, as part of his visit, Ambassador A. Bayramov held meetings with the leadership of the cities and prefectures of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Ambassador outlined to the Japanese side the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, based on the principles of permanent neutrality, peacefulness and dialogue.

Also was noted that the adoption, on the initiative of our country, of the United Nations General Assembly resolution proclaiming 2028 as the “International Year of International Law” serves as another confirmation of Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening international law.
