Turkmen teachers improve their professional skills in Japan

Teachers of the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan are improving their professional competencies in Japan as participants of the programme ‘Improvement of Engineering Teaching Methodology’ of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

On the basis of the University of Tsukuba, Turkmen teachers carry out scientific research work under the guidance of leading professors of the Japanese university.
Representatives of the Oguz Khan University actively participate in cultural events. They attend cultural exchange courses, which are also included in the JICA programme.

In the Japanese city of Moriya, our teachers took part in the MIFA (Moriya International Friendship Association) festival, where they watched presentations that introduced them to the culture of the Japanese people. During the festival, the teachers of Oguz Khan University had an opportunity to demonstrate a performance on the topic of traditional Turkmen culture, which was highly appreciated by the representatives of the cultural sphere of Japan.

In early November, Turkmen educators visited Ushiku Eishin High School, where Mekan Toydjanov, a lecturer from the Department of Nano- and Biomedical Electronics of the Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan, held an open class. The class was attended by 300 Japanese students, school management and teachers, as well as representatives of the JICA programme. During the lesson, the topics of culture and history of the Turkmen people, as well as research activities and international cooperation of the Scientific and Technological Centre ‘Oguz Khan’ of the Turkmen University were presented. The open lesson ended with the performance of the university teacher Myahri Annamuradova, who sang a song in the Turkmen language for those present. At the Japanese school, the teachers got acquainted with the Japanese art of origami, had an opportunity to communicate with the students, who told the guests about the structure and content of the school lessons and the centres operating on the territory of the school.
