国家元首の新著「スポーツは友情、健康そして美への道である」の紹介イベント
A presentation of a new book authored by President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov “Sport – a pathway to friendship, health and beauty” has been given in a conference hall of the Public Organizations Center of Turkmenistan. Among those in attendance were the Mejlis Chairperson, government members, leaders of military and law enforcement agencies, public organizations, political analysts, representatives of sports organizations and the mass media.
Having declared mass physical activities and the development of sport as one of the state policy’s key priorities, the nation’s leader had proposed a forward-looking large-scale strategy, whose implementation encouraged the unprecedented expansion of our country’s sports movement and gave a task-oriented character to the long-term national program.
Event participants have highlighted that the progressive policy, pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, is bearing fruit. The ultimate triumph of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat and remarkable achievements of our athletes, who took the overall lead and topped the medal table, serve as eloquent testimony to this.
The nation’s leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov-authored book (as the title implies) focuses on the important role and enormous significance of physical activities and sport in the lives of people and society.
The publication tells about the massive efforts made in Turkmenistan and the ongoing targeted measures aimed to develop mass sports movement and sport of records, and the national sports with the centuries-old traditions that have been kept alive by the Turkmen nation.
Today, the people of Turkmenistan, first and foremost, young people have ample opportunities to be engaged in different sports, including winter sports. The book also explores the rich history of sport in Turkmenistan.
President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has stressed that our native country gains more and more experience with every passing year as an organizer of international competitions. Irrevocably committed to high humanistic ideals of the Olympic Movement, neutral Turkmenistan is making its meaningful contribution to strengthening fruitful cooperation in this area regionally and globally. In this context, the book places special emphasis on the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, their program and participants. It also provides the information about the previous Asian Games and their results.
One of its chapters is devoted to the landmarks of Turkmenistan, which have earned a spot in the illustrious Guinness World Records. Among them are the Akhalteke horse head sculpture, which adorns the capital’s Olympic Stadium and has been recognized as the largest architectural symbol of a horse in the world, and the Olympic Complex’s Aquatics Center – the world’s largest indoor swimming pool, constructed with the use of the most advanced technologies and ecologically clean building materials that meet high international standards.
One of the chapters presents President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov’s official speeches and congratulatory Addresses to participants in international forums and conferences, athletes of the national team of Turkmenistan.
The book has been prepared and published by the Turkmen State Publishing Service in the Turkmen, English and Russian languages, and is handsomely illustrated with photographs.
