HEADS OF UN MISSIONS IN TURKMENISTAN HELD A TRAINING SEMINAR FOR SPECIALISTS INVOLVED IN THE CONDUCT OF ELECTIONS
On March 2, 2022, a seminar was held at the Garagum hotel of the capital for representatives of state institutions participating in elections and referendums in Turkmenistan. The training seminar was dedicated to improving the experience of national specialists in the preparation and conduct of elections and was organized with the assistance of the heads of the UN offices in Ashgabat.
The Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, Dmitry Shlapachenko, and the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Turkmenistan, Narine Sahakyan, addressing the participants of the seminar, noted the importance of the ongoing socio-political event - the election of the President of Turkmenistan for further democratization of society and understanding by every citizen of their responsibility for the future of the country.
In addition, during the training seminar, the attention of those present was directed to the fact that today, March 2, marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the United Nations and the importance of this significant date was emphasized. In this regard, it was noted that Turkmenistan is effectively interacting with this authoritative Organization and its specialized institutions.
During the event, it was also said about the purpose of the ongoing training seminar, which is to support Turkmenistan by improving the experience of national specialists in the preparation and conduct of elections, which are an important political event that will have an impact on the promotion of democratic values.
Also, within the framework of the seminar, the participants got acquainted with international experience in organizing elections and applying advanced innovative technologies during elections.
