TELEPHONE CONVERSATION BETWEEN THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Today, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
Warmly greeting each other, the interlocutors reaffirmed the commitment of the two countries to traditional relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation that meets common interests.
President Vladimir Putin cordially congratulated the Turkmen leader on the successful holding of the Presidential elections, which became an important milestone in the modern history of Turkmenistan, demonstrating significant achievements under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in all spheres of the life of the state and society.
Expressing gratitude for the kind words, the head of Turkmenistan noted that according to the results of the elections held on March 12, announced by the Central Election Commission, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was elected the new President of the country. According to the leader of the nation, based on this, he intends to continue his active work in a new capacity - Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan. Taking the opportunity, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to President Vladimir Putin for his great personal contribution to strengthening interstate relations and fruitful joint work.
In continuation of the telephone conversation, the high level and constructive nature of the Turkmen-Russian dialogue, which is dynamically developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats, within the framework of authoritative international and regional organizations and structures, was emphasized. It is also noteworthy that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation.
During the exchange of views on priority issues of bilateral partnership, it was stated that there is a solid potential for further building up mutually beneficial contacts in the trade and economic sphere. Here, a clear example of productive joint work is the long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the largest regions and subjects of Russia. At the same time, great importance is attached to the deepening of traditional humanitarian cooperation in the fields of education, science and culture.
Expressing confidence that constructive interstate relations would continue to grow stronger and steadily develop for the common good, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Vladimir Putin addressed their best wishes to each other and the peoples of both countries.
