THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN HELD TELEPHONE CONVERSATION

On March 15, 2022, a telephone conversation took place between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The Tajik leader congratulated the head of state on the successful holding of early elections for the post of President of Turkmenistan, which demonstrated the unity, solidarity and civil maturity of the people of Turkmenistan.

Taking the opportunity, the head of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon noted that under the leadership of the head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan has changed beyond recognition in recent years, its international authority has significantly increased. Ashgabat has become a venue for major international meetings. As emphasized, Tajikistan always supports the creative initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader and sincerely rejoices at the success of the fraternal people.

Thanking his Tajik colleague for the kind words, the Leader of the Nation stated with satisfaction that following the results of the elections to the highest state post announced by the Central Election Commission of the country, Serdar Berdimuhamedov was elected the new President of Turkmenistan and stated that from now on he intends to continue his active work as the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan.

In this regard, the head of state expressed gratitude to President Emomali Rahmon for his great personal contribution to the development of bilateral relations between the two friendly states, as well as fruitful joint work.

Thanking for the kind words, the Tajik leader stressed that Tajikistan is invariably committed to friendly relations with Turkmenistan, which, being based on the principles of mutual respect, understanding and trust, have acquired new qualitative content in recent years.

Then the leader of the nation handed over the handset to the newly elected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Having warmly greeted his colleague, the head of Tajikistan cordially congratulated him on his election to the post of President of Turkmenistan, wishing him good health for many years, prosperity and great success in his responsible work at the highest state post.

Sincerely thanking for the congratulations and good wishes, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his readiness to continue the course of the previous head of Turkmenistan, aimed at further strengthening the multifaceted partnership, supporting proposals and initiatives to expand and deepen cooperation between the two friendly countries.

In conclusion, the interlocutors expressed their firm conviction that the brotherhood and cooperation, which have been linking the two peoples since ancient times, will successfully develop for the benefit of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Saying goodbye, newly elected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon exchanged wishes of health and success, peace, well-being and prosperity to the Turkmen and Tajik peoples.
