Dear participants,

First of all, I would like to extend my heartfelt welcome to all of you who are attending this event.

I would like to note that today relations between Turkmenistan and Japan have reached a new stage.

Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the further development of the traditional Turkmenistan-Japan partnership based on the principles of long-standing friendship, trust and mutual understanding.

In this regard, it is noted that since 2016, Japanese language learning has been introduced into the curriculum of 6 higher education institutes in Turkmenistan, and 12 schools are teaching in Japanese. Currently, about 13,360 students are studying Japanese in Turkmenistan.

The former Prime Minister of Japan His Excellency Mr. Shinzo Abe made an effort to expand Japanese language learning in Turkmenistan.
