Uzynada: New wells and strategic perspectives

The Korpeje Drilling Department of the State Concern Türkmennebit continues geological survey in Uzynada oil and gas field. The well of more than 7,000 meters in depth has been drilled at perspective territory and casing running is carried out at the moment for further development of natural deposits. Results of work of drilling team will be known in May. 

One well, which was drilled to the depth of 7,150 meters, is already under operation at the field with proposed big reserves of hydrocarbons. Lower red sedimentary Pliocene layer has been opened using powerful equipment and big flow of gas and mixture of gas condensate and oil has been received. 

This is the first time in the history of oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan to have wells of such kind, which are the deepest in Central Asia today. Together with personnel of oil industry, divisions of Turkmengeology State Corporation, which drill other two super deep wells, carry out survey and exploration works at Uzynada field. 

Development of Uzynada Field inBalkan Velayat opens huge prospects for development of oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan in general. For the first time, exploration works have been carried out in this place forty years ago at the depths up to 4,300 meters. However, the reasons for repetitive opening of the layers at maximum depths have come only few years ago after thorough analysis of modern seismic studies. 

The activities for exploration and development of Uzynada Field will provide additional increment of oil and gas condensate production. Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Concern Türkmennebit and ARETI International Group of Companies singed in March this year opens big opportunities in this direction.
