Telematics solutions for sowing campaign: New shipment of John Deere equipment

Another shipment of agricultural equipment from the world famous producer has come to our country on the threshold of the cotton sowing. At the recent session of the Cabinet of Ministers, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov set objectives for organized coming spring campaign and efficient use of specialized equipment to personnel of agricultural sphere.

Technical and technological modernization is an important aspect of reforms in agricultural complex, which are aimed at improvement of competiveness of the industry, strengthening of food abundance and export potential of the country. Today, this objectives are solved on new innovative base taking into account the Concept of development of digital economy in Turkmenistan, which was approved by the head of the state.

These days, planters and tractors equipped with telematics control system have been delivered from John Deere from United States of America. Mechanical works un agricultural complex made using digital technologies and telematics systems give opportunity to cultivate the soil more precisely.

Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) on installation of digital electronic control system in agricultural equipment and machinery in 2020 – 2030 has been signed last August.

According to the document, high productive specialized John Deere and Claas equipment, which was bought in 2013 0 2019, would be equipped with telematics system. This system allows tracking the equipment, in particular, their location, fuel consumption, actual running hours, load and many other parameters direct from the office as well as from any other place with internet access or from mobile phone.

The Control Centre has been made for this purpose in administrative building of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection of the country. The centre will receive live information about equipment used in agricultural campaigns. Similar centre of regional level is located in Anau, Ahal Velayat.

It is also planned to open local monitoring stations, which will be connected to unified hub server and provided with equipment for collection, storage, analysis and processing of data, in administrative centres of the countries and etraps.

It is worth mentioning that modification of agricultural equipment, which comes to our country, undergoes mandatory test for compliance with local soil and climate conditions. For example, John Deere tractors equipped with digital telemetric systems have been successfully tested in the cotton fields of Gyoktepe, Kaahka and Ak Bugday etraps, Ahal Velayat.

Altogether, 155 tractors of this brand and the same number of wheel carts and cultivators as well as 98 planters will be delivered to our country in March – April this year.

In addition, new big agreements for supply of 600 cotton harvesters, 300 of which have already been delivered in 2019, and another 300 are to come by the beginning of the cotton harvesting in 2020, have been signed with John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co. KG according to the Resolutions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

John Deere 9970 Harvester is a modern model, which is distinguished by simple operation, is very economic and highly productive including due to the big volume of storage tank. It is worth reminding that 400 similar harvesters have been delivered to our country in 2017 – 2018.

According to the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan from December, 2016, the contract on staged delivery of grain harvester and ploughing and other tractors to our country in 2017 – 2020 has been signed with CLAAS.

According to the document, CLAAS has delivered 1,000 units of modern TUCANO 420 gran harvesters, 800 units of AXION 850 ploughing tractors and 1,550 AXOS 340 processing tractors.

Buying equipment of latest modifications with improved operational characteristics, the government strengthen and modernizes equipment and facility base of agricultural complex making conditions for stable growth of agricultural production including by conducting of field works in optimum period with high quality. The production output and professional level of farmers are growing and conditions of their work are improved.

Representatives of private business are able to buy modern samples of agricultural equipment and machinery of John Deere by bank credit. Relative resolution on government support of entrepreneurs was signed by the President of Turkmenistan in January this year.
